Macrotron Re-certified by M-Systems as an Independent Programming Facility for DiskOnChipâ Products

FREMONT, CA (March 28, 2001)---Macrotron Systems, Inc., a private specialized electronics contract manufacturer focusing on memory intensive products, announced today that it has been re-certified by M-Systems (Nasdaq: FLSH), the leader in flash-based local storage solutions for the Internet Appliance (IA) and embedded markets, as an independent programming facility for DiskOnChip. M-Systems re-certified that Macrotron Systems, Inc. of Fremont, CA continues to meet its stringent partner requirements. The certification, after one-year of successful M-System activity, was extended through December 2002, a two-year extension.

High volume production of M-Systems DiskOnChip began in 1997 and, as its large number of design wins went into production, the need for a certified programming facility became evident. It is generally more cost effective to program the product prior to placing it on the printed circuit board and Macrotron has the experience that customers demand. Customers can now provide a complete SMT design by having the Macrotron programming source available in North America. This alleviates the need to add circuitry to the board design and eliminates additional board handling for programming. The customer can obtain the ultimate in programming services from Macrotron for the best flash disk in the world from M-Systems.
